Highway Closures for Ksi Mat’in (Kwinhak) Bridge Maintenance

The Kwinhak river Bridge will be closed intermittently during the hours of 10pm-6am Monday to Thursday from September 5th to September 15th for replacement of the timber bridge deck and supporting timber cross ties. Each work night there will be three 15-minute openings to allow traffic to cross in either direction:  At midnight, 2am and 4am. In an effort to be prepared for all possible emergency situations, additional traffic control persons with radio communication to the work site will be located at Lax̱g̱alts’ap and Gitwinksihlkw (at the junction with the Nisga’a Highway) to provide advanced notice, allowing the crew to clear the bridge for immediate passage of emergency traffic.
