Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia Judith Guichon visits the Nass Valley

As part of her tour of the northern region of the province this week, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia, Her Honour Judith Guichon visited the Nass Valley the evening of Tuesday February 24, 2015.

Her Honour was provided a tour of the Nisga'a Legislature at Nisga'a Lisims Government in Gitlaxt'aamiks and then proceeded on to the Nisga'a Museum in Laxgalts'ap where she was greeted by Laxgalts'ap Chief Councillor Henry Moore, spouse Wanda, Gitwinksihlkw Chief Councillor Ron Nyce, Nisga'a Lisims Government Executive Director Cheryl Stephens and Nisga'a Museum staff.  

Chief Councillor Moore formally welcomed and extended greetings to Her Honour on behalf of President H. Mitchell Stevens and the Executive Officers who are in Ottawa this week.

Nisga'a Museum Curator Zora McMillan, and Museum staff Jolene Sampare and Holly Maxwell then provided Her Honour and her party with a tour of the Ancestor's Collection.

The vice-regal party continued on to Smithers the same evening and will end the northern tour at the closing ceremonies of the Canada Winter Games in Prince George later this week.
