NAIG Series: Rayham Davis - Under 16 Males Soccer

Rayham Davis is 15 years, old he comes from Laxgalts’ap. He is from Wilps Hy’maas and has been playing soccer since he was 5 years old. Rayham has played all positions on the field but since he was 9 years old has identified his favourite position as being a goaltender. Rayham likes the challenge and has helped his many Terrace youth soccer teams over the years win championships by coming up with highlight reel saves in close games and in shootouts. Rayham is a coach’s dream with his big size and athleticism to make reflex or improv saves, he tends to play deep on his line but has the quickness and bravery to shut down dangerous situations in the box.
ISPARC had 3 phases of tryouts for Team BC Soccer in Hazelton, Seabird Island and final one in Musqueam in April. Rayham was notified in May that he was on the roster as the goalie to represent U16 Boys for Team BC for the NAIG in Nova Scotia July 15-23, 2023.
Rayham has a final training camp July 8-9th in Musqueam and he will be leaving with Team BC charter on July 15th to Nova Scotia. During the games the team will have 4 round robin games and the top teams advance to 2 medal round games. We wish Rayham the solo Nisga’a on this U16 boys squad all the best and we know he will represent his family and Nisga’a nation well. We would also like to congratulate and wish all the other Nisga’a athletes competing in NAIG the best of luck and we know they will represent Nisga’a Nation with honour and respect like we were taught by our grandparents.
We also want to thank all that have supported our athletes as the financial responsibilities are on the athletes to get to practices and games in the south. If you or any community societies would like to contribute we are accepting any donations.
Respectfully submitted by Proud Family of Rayham Davis

Si'aamhl wilin Rayham!
