Nisg̱a’a Lisims Government Welcomes New Chief Executive Officer – Jason Majore


February 6, 2023 – New Aiyansh, B.C. – Following the July 2022 retirement announcement of 10-year incumbent CEO Collier Azak, Nisg̱a’a Lisims Government will have a new Chief Executive Officer starting February 13, 2023 following a recruitment process spanning several months.

With over 20 years of experience working in various senior management level capacities, most notably with the Haisla Nation Council as Chief Executive Officer and Old Masset Village Council as Band Administrator, Jason Majore brings strategic leadership, industry negotiation experience and a well-rounded management approach that encourages a team building approach to the overall organization.

Following an overview of the hiring process by the hiring committee comprised of President Eva Clayton, Executive Chairperson Brian Tait, Secretary-Treasurer Charles Morven, Chair for the Council of Elders Herbert Morven with administrative support by Human Resources Advisor Pearl Dyer, the NLG Executive by majority vote appointed Mr. Jason Majore as Nisg̱a’a Lisims Government’s Chief Executive Officer.

Jason is of Haida and Metis ancestry and holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Northern British Columbia. Majore has shared in the hiring process that he has always aspired to work with the Nisg̱a’a Nation.
