NOTICE IN ACCORDANCE WITH NISGA’A LAW
ORDER OF THE NISGA’A ELECTIONS OFFICER RE: NOMINATION MEETING FOR
THE NISGA’A VILLAGE GOVERNMENT OF GITLAXT’AAMIKS BY-ELECTION
In accordance with Executive Resolution 2014 / 33 and section 103(2) of the Nisga’a Elections Act, I hereby order that the date for the nomination meeting for the following elected offices:
One (1) position of Village Councillor for the Nisga’a Village Government of Gitlaxt’aamiks
The nomination meeting for the above elected office will be held at :
Gitmidiik Auditorium
5216 Tait Avenue
Gitlaxt’aamiks (New Aiyansh), B.C.
The nomination meeting date:
Wednesday, May 14, 2014
from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
The Nisga’a Elections Officer will receive nominations for the above elected offices only at the above meeting.
Nominees for the elected office of Village Councillor for Gitlaxt’aamiks must be Nisga’a citizens and must be at least 18 years of age.
Nominees for the elected office of Village Councillor for Gitlaxt’aamiks must ordinarily reside in the Nisga’a Village of Gitlaxt’aamiks.
At the above nomination meeting, a Nisga’a citizen listed on the Nisga’a Voters List as ordinarily residing in the Nisga’a Village of Gitlaxt’aamiks may nominate or second the nomination of a person for the above elected offices.
Nominators and seconders must provide the Nisga’a Elections Officer with required nomination forms.
Nominees must provide the Nisga’a Elections Officer with required nomination papers and must pay a nomination deposit of $100 (only cash, money order or certified cheque payable to the Nisga’a Nation will be accepted).
