Police probe fatal northwestern BC accident (Terrace Standard)

POLICE ARE investigating a single vehicle accident north of Terrace which has claimed one life.

The accident took place at approximately 2 am June 15 on Hwy113 at the north end of Lava Lake, approximately 80km north of Terrace.

Two males and a female were traveling north on Highway 113 when their vehicle, a Pontiac Sunbird, left the road and rolled over.

The 28 year old male driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, reports the RCMP.

Both passengers were transported to Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace BC.  Due to the seriousness of injuries the female passenger was flown via air ambulance to Vancouver B.C.

West Pacific Region Traffic Services along with the Integrated Collision Analyst and Reconstruction Services continue to investigate the cause of the collision, reports the RCMP.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this case.

Officers from the Lisims/Nass Valley RCMP detachment were first called to the scene.
