Public Notice: Closure of all Nisga'a Individual Sale Fisheries for 2012

Public Notice

Closure of all Nisga’a Individual Sale

Fisheries for 2012

The in-season Total Return to Canada (TRTC) estimate for Nass Sockeye

is currently projected at 417,000 (range between 404,000 and 459,000)

based on a mean run timing estimate of 95% to Area 3. Based on the

current TRTC projection, the in-season Nisga’a entitlement would be

~71,000 (range between 69,000 and 81,000).

Considering the harvests of Nass Sockeye to date by all fisheries

(~69,000) and the uncertainty in final post-season TRTC and Nisga’a

entitlement estimates, the Individual Sale (marine and in-river)

fisheries are CLOSED to Nass Sockeye for the remainder of 2012.
