Following the release of the Notice of Official Results from the Nisga'a Elections Officer Friday morning, newly elected Village Councillors of Gitwinksihlkw and Gitlaxt'aamiks were sworn in to office at duly convened meetings of their respective Village Governments.

Chairperson of the Council of Elders, Sigidim-nak' Angaye'e - Shirley Morven first administered the Oath of Office to newly elected members Clyde Azak, Bruce J. Haldane and Charles Morven at the Nisga'a Village of Gitwinksihlkw Village Government Chamber on Friday morning.

On Friday afternoon, the Oath of Office was then administered in the Nisga'a Village of Gitlaxt'aamiks for newly elected Gitlax'taamiks Village Councillors Eva Clayton, Brian Tait and Keith Tait. 

The 6 newly elected Village Councillors have filled vacancies within their respective Village Governments in a by-election held on January 28, 2013.
