Nisga'a Lands contain about 1.7 million cubic meters of Lodgepole pine. At the moment the major pine beetle infestations are between Terrace and Rosswood. If these beetles were to move onto Nisga'a Lands the impact would be dramatic.

The Pine Beetle Management and Action Plan is designed to keep beetles as far away from Nisga'a Lands as possible and to aggressively control any infestations on Nisga'a Lands.
