This Christmas we hope family and friends will cherish each other with a renewed spirit of love, sharing and forgiveness. The extraordinary tragedies we have experienced over the past months have traumatized the Nation and left us searching for answers. In the true spirit of Sayt-K’ilim-Goot we should unite, embrace our spirituality and foster understanding and hope. Far too often we are so preoccupied with our daily routines that we do not share with those nearest and dearest to us how precious they really are. In the days ahead we should make time to restore a balance to our lives as families and as communities and to enrich our relationships.

This past year has been very busy with our Nisga’a Elections and introducing new Wilp Si’Ayuukhl Nisga’a members, Village Governments and Urban Locals to their roles and responsibilities. In the New Year, we will continue to build the foundation on which our Nation can thrive for our children, grandchildren and their descendants.

We sincerely appreciate being welcomed into your communities and into your hearts. You have given us the most precious of gifts - your time, your talents, your spirit and especially your trust.

May our beautiful heritage of faith and freedom fill your heart and home with special pride this holiday season. We will remember those who have left us this past year. As we grieve, we should also acknowledge the core values and principles of the Nisga’a culture and rich heritage of our faith that will guide us through our sorrow. We should endeavour to fill our hearts with beautiful moments and cherished memories. In your circle of family and friends, may you find a world of love and peace. May you have a blessed and joyous holiday filled with beautiful moments and cherished memories.
