National Dress Down Day - October 3, 2008
For the third
consecutive year, Nisga'a Lisims Government has registered in the Breast Cancer
Society of Canada's National Dress Down
Day to take place on Friday
October 3, 2008.
Dress Down
Day is a national fundraising campaign that organizations across
Canada can
participate in to help raise funds in support of breast cancer research in the
areas of early detection, prevention, treatment, fundamental laboratory
investigation, quality of life, health services and translational
research.
For those who
don't recall or have not yet participated in previous NLG DD days, some
activities we've done to help raise awareness and funds have been: dressing in
PINK; posing in PINK; competing with other Nisga'a Institutions (we won two
years ago!); honouring survivors and remembering loved ones lost; sharing a
meal; NLG matching sum of employee donations.
Individual
financial contributions may be given to your Dress Down Day Coordinator,
Bobby
Clark in the
upstairs administrative wing of the Nisga'a Lisims Government building.  All
donations will be recorded and eligible charitable tax receipts will be issued
(by Breast Cancer Society of Canada) for
donations of $20 or more.
