North Coast - inland sections issued

is a warning that an extended period of freezing rain is expected or

A warm front has brought more than
25 cm of snow to the area near Stewart since yesterday afternoon.
Further snowfall amounts of 5 to 10 cm are expected through this
morning over the region. Meanwhile warm air aloft from the front in
combination with the cold airmass at the surface is producing periods
of freezing rain over the Terrace area. The freezing rain is expected
to change to rain this morning as the surface temperatures rise.
