Moving Toward a Stronger Future

15 Nisga'a youth and youth workers participated in a 3-day leadership workshop entitled "Moving Toward A Stronger Future" at Nisga'a Lisims Government this week.

Participants engaged in various activities including a presentation on the effects of Residential School; a 'where I am now, where I want to be' visioning exercise; and various other leadership activities, projects and presentation.

Ceremony begins at 2pm with outdoor activities which include the Blessing of the new Fire Truck.

Dinner will be served at 5:00pm and the doors open at 4:00pm

Abby Stewart of Gingolx will be the recipient of the Crime Prevention and Community Safety from the Ministry of Justice.

This award, named after Const. Kenneth M. Lemckert, recognizes an individual who has provided exemplary leadership in the area of community policing.  Since 1998, the Ministry has recognized individuals, groups and programs that have made outstanding contributions to their communities by presenting the Community Safety and Crime Prevention Awards.
