The Nisga’a Business Development Fund Act

Purpose
This Act is to provide Nisga’a business initiatives with an alternative source of business development funds. Our focus is to work with Nisga'a to fund businesses and economic development activities that are financially viable and contribute to the well-being (sustainable employment) and wealth generation of the Nisga'a, leveraging other resources and investors as much as possible.

Effective June 1, 2008, everyone who buys goods or services on the Nisga'a lands will be
subject to the GST. The tax rate for
GST is 5%.

The Nisga'aLisims Government and Canada Revenue Agency announced today that the Goods and Services Tax (GST)will apply to most of the goods and servicesyou either purchase or sell on Nisga'a lands effective June1, 2008. Under the Nisga'aFinal Agreement (NFA), the remission on transaction taxes ends for Nisga'a citizenson May31, 2008.

important changes. Effective June 1, 2008 the Federal Goods and Services Tax
