About

Nisga’a Lands are home to abundant populations of terrestrial and aquatic species, as well as resident and migratory bird populations. The Nisga’a relationship to wildlife goes beyond one of interconnectedness — we are one.  All Nisga’a are members of one of four pdeek, a very large “family” whose common ancestors lived in the time before memory.  Raven, wolves, killer whales, and eagles are the four primary crests that make up our pdeek and serve to remind us of our place in the natural world.
