NLG Food Hamper Drive 2013

The annual tradition of giving was kept alive and well this holiday season as Nisga'a Lisims Government staff voluntarily contributed both financially and with non-perishable food items to the annual NLG Christmas Food Hamper drive.  A total of $750 was collected from NLG staff which led to a large bulk non-perishable food shopping expedition by NLG's Human Resources Manager. Non-perishable food contributions were also contributed to the worthy cause by the Gitwinksihlkw Salvation Army.

The staff at NLG Access to Justice Department have partnered with the INN OF THE WEST BEER AND WINE STORE to run a brown bag awareness and safety campaign for the 2013 holiday season.

RCMP "Proudly Serving the Nisga'a Nation"

It was a brisk, cold and sunshiny afternoon in Gitlaxt'aamiks where members of the Lisims Nass Valley RCMP along with members of the Nisga'a Public Order Peace and Safety (POPS) Committee hosted a short Nisga'a naming and blessing ceremony.  In another gesture of good faith and in the spirit of partnership, the Lisims Nass Valley RCMP detachment launched the display of local Nisga'a artist
