Recreation
Two sites have been designated as recreation sites under the Nisga’a Forest Act, these are.
- Dragon Lake Campground: Designated February 12, 2008
- Dragon Lake Picnic Site: Designated February 12, 2008
Dragon Lake Campground (add link to Camp_Site)
This site is located approximately 6km north of Nass Camp along the Nass Forest Service road, a.k.a. Cranberry Connector, a portion of unpaved Nisga’a Highway. The site contains a one-way access road that exits approximately 400m north of the access road. The site is currently open year round at no cost, however vandalism has required us to review this policy, please contact NLG prior to using the site to ensure the site has not been closed or had access restricted. The campground contains eleven sites, three pit toilets, steel fire rings, steel and wood picnic tables; two bear proof garbage containers and a gravel boat launch onto Dragon Lake.
Dragon Lake Picnic site (CLOSED INDEFINITELY) (add link to Picnic_Ground)
CLOSED - This site is also located six kilometers north of Nass Camp, 1 km north on the Nass Forest Service rd; a.k.a. Cranberry Connector, a portion of unpaved Nisga’a Highway; you then follow the 2900 forest service branch road for 5 kilometers. Road access is not available.
